Program Staff:

Laura Granato
Dr. Laura Granato, Project Director
Dr. Granato is founder of GG and a former faculty member in the School of Education, Department of Counseling/Human and Organizational Studies (CHAOS), at The George Washington University. As a licensed professional counselor, licensed marriage and family therapist, and former school counselor, Dr. Granato designed and developed the original FIT Relationships curriculum and program to be informative, interactive, and beneficial to couples at all socioeconomic levels. Dr. Granato has experience managing government projects for HHS, ED, FAA, and many other agencies.

Bill WernickBill Wernick, Chief Development Officer

Bill Wernick’s responsibilities include recruitment, community involvement, site development and establishment of strategic partnerships, case management of program participants, data gathering and creation of program usage reports.  In addition, he serves as the interface for partners, participants, educators, and all our volunteers.
Mr. Wernick has a long history of community involvement and has worked with families and low income persons. He served on the Board of Directors of Friends of The Family in Baltimore, Maryland, a 501 C-3 organization dedicated to family support and interventionin an effort to reduce child abuse throughout Maryland. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Chase Brexton Clinic a 501 C-3 organization, in Baltimore, Maryland and helped them transition to a Federally Qualified Health Care Facility. Chase Brexton is still committed to provide compassionate, quality health care that honors diversity, inspires wellness, and improves our communities regardless of a client’s ability to pay. Mr. Wernick also volunteered at AIRS (the Aids Interfaith Residential Services). He has taught personal finance and budgeting  to low income residents in Baltimore, Maryland and volunteers for fundraising events at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Most recently he has supported the Baltimore Women’s Exchange (formerly The Woman’s Industrial Exchange) whose original mission was to teach women skills to support themselves and is now providing a venue for local crafts people to sell their goods a means of supporting themselves and their families. Bill holds a Bachelor’s degree  in Psychology From Parson’s in Fairfield, Iowa.
Responsibilities: Outreach, marketing, recruitment, community involvement, site development and establishment of strategic partnerships, case management of program participants.  Data gathering and creation of program usage reports.  In addition, she provides training and supervision to relationship educators and child care providers and serves as the primary interface for participants, educators, and all our volunteers.

  IMG_1044  Julio Rodriguez, Program Manager

Julio Rodriguez is a graduate of the University of Uruguay_CCEE with a B.A in Business Organization,Coordination and Control. He also has extensive continuing education in  Marketing and Public Relations, Health Education, Addiction Counseling, CPR/First Aid Instruction, Food Protection Management and Child Development.

Mr. Rodriguez Previously conducted Outreach Coordination for the Hispanic community in the  Washington, DC area for Substance Abuse, and provided addiction counseling and Case Management support to the Arlington County Forensic Team.

Mr. Rodriguez currently serves as a Board Member (Vice-President) for the Centro de Alfabetizacion en Español (CENAES).

As the Program Manager, Julio sets program goals and manages program resources; hires and manages program staff and volunteers; oversees all initiatives and the technical and logistical aspects of the program; develops performance objectives for program staff; completes all program reports according to ACF guidelines, by assigned deadlines; ensures grant compliance in all aspects of the program; approves and submits all purchase and expense vouchers to accounting staff; oversees subcontractors; conducts relationship educator trainings and meetings; develops work assignment schedules for subcontractors; ensures dissemination of best practices; works with Project Director to stay on budget and to create new fiscal year budgets; prepares program for sustainability after funding cycle ends. In addition, he manages the Outreach Coordinators who are responsible for training and supervision to Relationship Educators and Child Care Providers and serve as the primary interface for participants, Educators, and all our Volunteers.

Mr. Rodriguez is bilingual.

 

JP Fit WebsiteJohn Petruccelli, Outreach Coordinator

Mr. John Petruccelli brings impeccable credentials to the Program. Mr. Petruccelli in addition to site development and establishing strategic partnerships is heading up our marketing efforts and is responsible for developing our newsletter, managing our web site, Facebook, and twitter accounts. He is also responsible for producing flyers and collateral material.  Functioning primarily as liaison with critical associates, he brings an added element to generating new ventures within the grant.  Mr. Petruccelli holds an MA in Clinical Mental Health counseling and is a Nationally Certified Counselor.

Jacqueline SchulzeJacqueline Schulze, Outreach Coordinator

Ms. Jacqueline Schulze’s responsibilities include outreach, marketing, recruitment, community involvement, site development and establishment of strategic partnerships. In addition, she provides training and supervision to marriage educators and child care providers and serves as the primary interface for participants, educators, and all our volunteers.

Ms. Schulze holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration and Finance, and a Master in Business and Strategy Management from UMSS, CBBA, Bolivia.

She has worked in Fairfax County School system’s special program for Spanish Families’ Early Literacy. She has facilitated for Nurturing Families for Fairfax County Government. Ms. Schulze is bilingual.

Ms. Schulze currently serves as a “Hispanic Parents in Action” member, organizing parent’s involvement in school children’s activities.

Carolina Dotel
Carolina has lived in the Northern Virginia area since 2006 and has been heavily involved in the community in a variety of ways. She attended La Universidad de la Tercera Edad in the Dominican Republic where she focused on Business Management and the University of Central Florida where she concentrated in English. She is a  relationship educator and has collaborated with several non-profit organizations to assist with various causes. Mrs. Dotel is bilingual.

Cynthia Wynn
Cynthia has earned a Certificate as a Life Coach trough New Life Coach Incorporated and has delivered numerous workshops aimed at enhancing healthy relationships and connections. In addition, Cynthia has completed Entrepreneur and Public Speaking Training with Operation Hope. Pulling from her 10 years experience in relationship education and her work as a medical assistant in diverse communities, Cynthia provides individuals and couples in the Washington DC metro area with relationship skills necessary to form and maintain healthy relationships and stable families.
